Application areas:
To achieve strong adhesion of materials to porous, rough, and dusty surfaces, possible to use Bituprime Coating. It’s suitable to prime concrete roofs and floors, cementitious screeds/renders, brickwork, bitumen felt, weathered bitumen, mastic asphalt, weathered, corrugated iron, and steel. for prime concrete roofs and floors, cementitious screeds/renders, brickwork, bitumen felt, weathered bitumen, mastic asphalt
Limitations:
· Not suitable for potable drinking water tanks.
· Bitumen compounds tend to bleed through and discolor paints are subsequently applied over it. Apply a primer recommended by the paint manufacturer before painting.
Bitumen primer Consumption:
Bituprime Coating – P01 consumption per m2 will be 0.25–0.35 l/m2 (1 l per 3.33 m2).
Method of application:
Bituprime Coating – P01 should be applied to the prepared surface to clear any debris or sharp projections.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of loose materials, dust, grease, rust, and other contaminants. Defects such as cracks should be repaired before primer application. For metal surfaces (old) remove any flaking material or rust with a wire brush. For previously coated surfaces should completely remove any old paint first then apply the new coating layer.
The bitumen primer should be applied in a continuous coat using a roll or brush penetrating the surface and providing a smooth and well-adhered base for subsequent waterproofing layers.
Advantages:
§ Improves the bond of bituminous materials
§ Binder for dust particles
§ Surface dressing to masonry and metal surfaces
§ Water-resistant.
§ Corrosion and chemical resistance.
§ Penetrates and seals porous surfaces.
§ Fast-drying.
§ Cost-effective, no heating, thinning, or mixing.
§ Compatible with various substrates and structures
§ Can be used at temperatures below 0°C
