Application areas:
Bituprime waterproof is used to prepare the substrate for the application of torch-on, self-adhesive, or other types of waterproofing materials. It’s suitable to prime concrete roofs and floors, cementitious screeds/renders, brickwork, bitumen felt, weathered bitumen, mastic asphalt, weathered, corrugated iron, and steel.
- Waterproofing of flat roofs, parapets, and flashings
- Waterproofing of ponds and water reservoirs
- Sealing of joints between different roofing materials, gutter joints, and roof screws
- Waterproofing and protective coating for below-ground foundations
Limitations:
Do not apply if the temperature is below 5°C
Do not apply to damp surfaces
Bitumen compounds have poor UV resistance and must be over-coated with paint if exposed to sunlight or UV rays. Due to the tendency of bitumen compounds to bleed through and discolor paints applied over them.
Bitumen primer Consumption:
Bituprime Waterproof – P02 consumption per m2 will be 0.25–0.35 l/m2 (1 l per 3.33 m2).
Method of application:
Bituprime Waterproof – P02 should be applied to the prepared surface to clear off any debris or sharp projections. Agitate the pails(drum) before use then the primer should be applied in continuous coat using a roll or brush penetrating the surface and providing a smooth and well-adhered base for subsequent waterproofing layers. Apply at temperatures +5°C – +40°C, water can be added if necessary.
Note: Tools and brushes must be cleaned immediately after use with water and soap
Advantages:
- Ready to use
