Bitumen Emulsion K1-60

    Introduction of bitumen emulsion K1-60

Bituminous asphalt emulsion K1-60 is a rapid setting cationic asphalt, which has a positive charge leading reaction between the emulsion and pavement. It contains 57% bitumen. 1 denoted as rapid braking. The primer bitumen which is used for emulsification is obtained from crude oil.

Bitumen emulsion K1-60 is chocolate brown in color and is a free-flowing liquid at ambient temperature.

The main applications of asphalt emulsion K1- 60   are pavement construction, surface dressing, and tack coat.

Typical properties of Bitumen emulsion K1-60

BACCO K1-60 cationic bitumen emulsion is made according to KS 02-769: 1990 standard and Malaysian Standard, MS 1.61 (1994).

You will see below more information about applications of this product:

    Surface Dressing

It consists of application in one or two coats, each consisting of a layer of bituminous binder sprayed on a previously prepared base, followed by a cover of stone chips rolled in to form a wearing course. RS-2 type cationic bitumen emulsion is ideal for surface dressing on the shoulders and for protection of freshly laid base course. The typical rate of application for two coats of surface dressing as per (MORTH&H) clause 510.2 is 28-32 kg/10sq.m.

    Grouting

For economical construction of low-volume roads, a combined base and wearing courses can be made by an application of HPCPL RS-2 cationic bitumen emulsion on the land and compacted aggregates. This application can be carried out even when the stone layer is damp.

    Penetration Macadam

It consists of the construction of one or more layers of compacted crushed coarse aggregates with alternate application of bituminous binder and key aggregate. to be used as a base course on the road, subject to the requirements of the overall pavement design.

    Sand Seal

A bituminous sand application for existing pavement surface to seal the surface and to function as a light-wearing course.

    Recommended rate of application

The typical rate of application of BACCO Bitumen Emulsion CRS2 for two-coat surface dressing is
     28-32 kg/10 m2.

    To ensure the best results

    ·        Environment friendly

    ·        No heating required

    ·        Cost efficient

    ·        Easy and uniform spray

    ·        Low temperature curing, fast setting time

    ·        High adhesive properties

    ·        Prevents slippage of structural layers

    Applications

Main application of CRS asphalt emulsion is using for surface treatment projects as:

    ·        Single surface treatment

    ·        Multiple surface treatment

    ·        Sand seal

BACCO Bitumen Emulsion CRS1 is ideally suited for Tack Coat application as well and other applications will see below:

    ·        To ensure a proper bond between existing surface and the new bituminous course being placed over it.

    ·        To ensure longevity of the road, it is important that the new bituminous surface bonds firmly with underneath surface

    ·        To coat and bond loose mineral particle on the surface of the surface layer

    ·        To seal surface pores and make the surface water-resistant

    ·        To impart structural stability and prevent lateral movement of layer

    ·        To assist adhesion between the base and super impose surface course

Tack coat application is a light spray of Bitumen Emulsion, which may be hand or machine sprayed. It is used to ensure a good bond between an old and a new bituminous surfacing layer. It is normally applied very thin and evenly over the entire surface.

    Bitumen Emulsion CQS-1h

    Introduction of bitumen emulsion CQS-1h

BACCO Bitumen Emulsion CQS-1h is a cationic asphalt emulsion designed for use in slurry seals and micro-surfacing projects. BACCO asphalt emulsions CQS-1h has a minimum 62% bitumen and it is chocolate brown in color and is a free-flowing liquid at ambient temperature.

The slurry seal process mixes the emulsion, aggregate, and additives in a specially designed machine, which also places the mixture. The cationic emulsion is a chemically stabilized system, so care should be taken not to upset the chemical balance with contamination by chemicals, over-exposure to air, or adverse mechanical or thermal conditions.

    Typical properties of CQS-1h

BACCO asphalt emulsion CQS-1h is manufactured strictly as per ASTM D2397-13
    AASHTO M208-16.

BACCO Bitumen Emulsion CMS-2h is ideally suited for Patch Repairing & Pot Hole Repairing. You will see more information about the applications of this product below:

    The procedure consists of

    • Blow off water and debris from the pothole.
    • Cut to rectangular shapes with all sides vertical
    • Remove loose material, if any
    • Spray tack coat of asphalt emulsion on all the sides and bottom
    • Mix prepared clean (preferably washed) and dry aggregates with HPCPL MS cationic bitumen emulsion
    • Typically, 13.2 mm and 11.2 mm sized aggregates mixed in 2:1 ratio
    • HPCPL MS cationic bitumen emulsion content of approximately 7% by weight of aggregates works best
    • Mix aggregates and emulsion properly to ensure good and uniform coating
    • Mix till the entire emulsion is broken (turn to black color)
    • Fill the premix immediately into the pothole up to a level slightly higher than the adjoining road surface and roll properly
    • Open the repaired pothole to traffic as soon as workers and equipment are clear

For economical and fast construction of the wearing course, emulsion is used for Premix Carpet.
